Scottie's BLOG
July 31st - We have had some great turnouts for classes recently. The Giada's Summer Meals was full of some
wonderful new people, and the Pizza on the Grill class was a winner. There was some tasty pizza eaten by one and
all. Gosh, I love and miss carbs. Mary, Jenn, Sammy and I have had so much fun with these classes. It's a shame
we don't have the responses we need for the rest of the classes. But, we are working hard on getting the word out
more so we can fill all the classes with interesting people every week.
I wish we could spend more time getting to know everyone after class. I always feel like I have missed an
opportunity to get to know everyone better.
I am working hard on getting the TV and cameras set up in the kitchen. It has taken a while to get what we need
to make it happen, but it looks good now.
Mary and I have some super ideas for classes for August and we are looking forward to seeing them through. The
descriptions will be completed this week.
Epiphany Kitchens will have the patio completed this month - with a new gas grill outside for us to use for classes.
The basement is complete now and they will have a grand reopening in September. Then everyone can see the new
changes.
We hope to see all the classes in August full!! Come on in and have some fun with your friends and us. Bring
everyone you can!!
July 10th - Tonight we had an excellent class. There were 14 people, and GOOD TIME PARTY STORE'S Dave
Tuer brought some excellent wines for us to taste during class. Here is a list that he served this evening:
Laurenz Gruner Veltlinen (with the appetizers)
X Winery White (with the Vichysoisse)
Apaltasua Chardonnary (with the Salad)
Chat Bianca Pinot Nor (with the Salmon)
Luccio Moscato Di Asti (with the dessert) - this one is Debbie's favorite!!!
Good Time Party Store is located at 7 mile rd. and Northville Rd. Ask for Dave or Robin to help you choose
from some absolutely great selections of wine. You will be happy you checked them out. These guys live and
work in Northville, and support the towns activities and charities whole heartedly!!!
Here is a sample of what OLIVE GROVE in Farmington, MI carries:
EVOO's:
Italian Extra Virgin
Basil
Rosemary
Garlic
Porcini Mushroom
Chipotle
Meyer Lemon White Truffle and MORE
VINEGARS:
Dark Chocolate (great on ice cream)
Fig
Vanilla
Cinnamon Pear
Blueberry
Strawberry
Cherry and much much more!!!!
July 8TH - Well, the 4th is behind us now, but that shouldn't stop us from having some good times this summer.
Check out the great things we have coming up just for you.
This weekend for the Julia Child class we have GOOD TIME PARTY STORE coming in to have a wine tasting
with wines paired just for that evenings menu. Should be fun!!
Next month we have THE OLIVE GROVE coming to the class on Aug. 8th, to let us taste all sorts of great
imported Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars. (see their address on our Information Page) They have some of the
most amazing flavors. If you go to their store in downtown Farmington, MI, you can taste every one of them for
yourself. It's hard not coming out with 4 to 6 bottles in your hands. They are all so great. I have been cooking
with them, and I can attest to their beautiful flavors first hand. It's much cheaper to purchase them at The Olive
Grove instead of ordering them online, or going to the pricey chain kitchen stores (you know who I mean).
June 20th - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all our customers!!!
We have had some great classes lately. Cooking with Wine was a full class, and a cheery one too!! We will
definitely have to do that one again. Summer Appetizers was a full class and we had some very yummy treats.
Barefoot Contessa's Class was full, and we had some wonderful fish that night. I must say that Mary is really
doing some outstanding work for all of us.
We are really looking forward to Grilling outside the shop on the patio. We have a few grilling classes coming up
soon, and we would love to have a good turnout for those.
Here is a comment from one of our customers:
Just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks for a great class. It was a really enjoyable, informative
evening and the food was fabulous! I am already planning on making the recipes at home.
We will definitely attend future classes!
Thanks again.
Joanne
We appreciate the feedback, Joanne!!!!
June 1st - Well June is here. It's warm and green everywhere. How about checking out some of the summer meals
we have coming up, and spice up a sometimes dull summer menu. Mary and I are always looking for new and
scrumptious meals for our customers to learn and enjoy at home. We love trying them out on our families, and
watching their faces light up when they really like something new.
Take a look at the new COOKING CHANNEL (was Fine Living Channel) on cable. "Chuck's Day Off" is
especially good. Chuck is a Canadian chef who is not hard to look at either. His meals are easy and fun.
Hope to see you soon.
May 18th: Tonight we had a full house for our PASTA CLASS. We had some absolutely great pasta meals. We
had some hands on learning for how to roll pasta using the machine. OK there was flour everywhere, but boy it
was fun.
May 1st: Well, we are hoping May does come in like a Lion for cooking classes this month. We have some great
classes lined up for both May, and June now. Take a look, and give us a call to reserve your seat.
April 20th:
The Tex Mex class is a GO for this Thurs. ~ Hope to see you there!!!

while.
Come on in and take a few classes to wow your friends with for the summer entertaining!!
We would love to see you all again.

March 20th - Here is an email we received from one of our happy customers:
Debbie and Mary:
The Thai Class was one of the best cooking classes I have ever attended.
You were so thorough in explaining and demonstrating everything.
And, eating the food was fabulous.
Unfortunately I am traveling through most of April so I will not be able to take more classes for a while.
But I hope you repeat classes, they all sound so good.
I look forward to learning many things from you.
Thanks for all your hard work! It is appreciated.
Peg Campbell
March 18th - Tonight we had a great Thai Class. We had 11 wonderful people in class. Everyone had plenty to eat, and
lots to learn.
Here is a new photo of Mary's dog: Huckleberry. He is NOT a little boy any more.
March 6th:
Great PUB FOOD CLASS last night!!!! One of our dear customers, Mindy, brought her family, Irish beer, and snacks and
shared all with the rest of the group. What fun. We ate some great Bangers and Mash (sausages and whipped potatoes),
fish and chips, and the dipping sauce for the shrimp was sooooo good. FUN class.
Remember you can always bring your own refreshments if you desire. We will provide the glasses and the openers,
as needed.
Feb. 17th:
We had a great Tamales class on Monday. Our great customers got to make their own tamales and eat them later. It was
so much fun. A wonderful group of people!! Hope to see you at the next one.
My black Scottish Terrier, Katie, and I watched the Westminster Dog Show last night and cheered to the top of the roof
when Miss Sadie - from Michigan - won Best In Show!!! She is the most beautiful black scottie. Katie actually sat on
my lap and watched the show. She barked when she saw Sadie on her final run of the course. I think that helped win it
for her!!
Feb. 5th:
Next Sat., the 13th, Mary and I will be doing a cooking demo at the Northville Square Mall on Main
Street - just west of Center St. We are working with the new Public Market (located in the Mall) in order to bring
attention to all the great things going on over there now. Come by after 11:00 a.m. and visit with us there. Mary will be
making some yummy crepes - and as usual I will assisting as much as I can. Then you can see the mall and what we hope
will be a great new addition to Northville.
Please take a good look at all the classes coming up this month, and next month. We would love to have you all come and
take classes soon!! We need you there in order to have a good time, and share some wonderful food.
Feb. 1st:
This past weekend Mary and I entered the Fire and Ice, Northville, Chili and Salsa Competition. Mary made her killer
salsa. Alas, we didn't win but we saw a lot of old friends and customers. We met a lot of new and interesting people, and
got to taste some very good chili. Rocky's restaurant won for best
chili in both the People's Choice and the Judge's choice categories. It was very good chili. Northville Township Fire Dept.
won the competition between the two Northville Fire Dept. Mary and I decided to enter again next year, but we will do
chili instead. Maybe our famous Turkey Chili recipe. Yum.
Here's Mary at our table:
I don't know how many people know, but Mary got a new addition to her family:
His name is Huckleberry. He's about 8 weeks old. This young lad is a pure bred St. Bernard!! He already loves to go
play outside in the snow, and bite at ankles for attention. Mary's daughter, Sam, really wanted a St. Bernard, and she's
taking very good care of him. If you get any discount coupons in the mail, or in the paper, for pet stores, please pass them
along to Mary if you don't use them yourself. Huck eats like a little piggy and is growing larger by the day.
